Job summary

Avalon Senior Living in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a dedicated Culinary Server to support meal preparation, service, and dining-room operations. You will help maintain hygiene, assist in portions, and assist the kitchen team before, during, and after meals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• ServSafe certification required.
• Excellent organizational, time-management and computer skills.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and be on feet long periods.
• Maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Assist in meal preparation and portion allocation according to the menu and weekly schedule
• Complete resident checklist and report results to cook or Culinary Director (CD)
• Assist in meal service in accordance with sanitation standards
• Immediately inform CD of any substandard food quality
• Monitor food and beverage to ensure proper temperature
• Buss tables and wash dishes using the full hands in, full hands out method
• Clean equipment as assigned
• Maintain dining room and kitchen area in clean condition, in accordance with community procedures
• Prepare, handle, store, and dispose of food in accordance with state and federal regulations
• Clean workspaces, cooking and serving equipment, trays, and dishes according to standards
• Load and unload the dishwasher, store clean equipment and dishes properly
