Job summary

H-E-B is seeking a Culinary Selling Expert to lead in-store cooking demonstrations in the Cooking Connection kitchen, crafting local recipes and engaging Guests with ingredient knowledge and pairing ideas.

You will help plan menus, deliver flavorful demonstrations, and support wine education or dinner events as needed, while upholding safety and quality standards throughout the shift.

Qualifications

• Degree in culinary arts, nutrition, home economics, or H-E-B Culinary certification (intermediate culinary skills).
• 2+ years of experience related to food and cooking or experience cooking in a professional environment, in sales or product demonstrations.

Responsibilities

• Follows the customer service and hospitality model to connect with Customers, building loyalty.
• Creates an atmosphere of celebration by participating in Store events, creating themed recipes, and cross merchandising.
• Welcomes Customers and assists with menu planning; scales recipes for different needs.
• Demonstrates cooking methods and recipe preparation; conducts food prep efficiently.
• Provides engaging culinary conversations and recommendations on ingredients and pairings.
• Represents the day's recipes; answers culinary questions; suggests substitutions for dietary restrictions.
