Job summary

The University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY is seeking a Student Food Service Worker for part-time shifts, typically Monday through Friday with some evenings and occasional weekends. Expect 5–20 hours per week depending on programming and on-campus needs. Duties include food preparation, serving, and supporting catered events on campus.

A HS diploma and current UK student status are required; some evenings may be needed, and training will be provided to help you perform effectively.

Qualifications

• Must have excellent customer service skills and a willing attitude.
• Have reliable transportation or ability to be on time to shifts.
• Have or obtain a food handler’s permit from the Fayette County Health Department (Servsafe certification a plus). Funding and training for certification provided by department.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation, preservation, and repurposing; catering assistance including serving, bussing, transport of food and equipment, and set-up and breakdown of events.
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and off-site food preparation surfaces, equipment, and dishes.
• Light office, errands, or other duties as needed.
