Job summary

Five Star Breaktime Solutions seeks a Chef Manager to oversee daily dining operations at assigned locations, ensuring top food quality, safety, and customer service. You will lead scheduling, training, and performance management while developing menus that keep the dining experience fresh and appealing.

You will monitor sanitation, inventory, purchasing, and cost efficiency, and report financials to upper management. This role acts as a bridge between frontline staff and executives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 4 years of related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as part of daily duties.
• Must consent to a drug screen and pre-employment background check.
• ServSafe certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily staff performance, supervise, schedule, and coordinate workflows for efficiency.
• Train and orient staff on policies, recipes, and performance expectations.
• Track attendance and enforce absenteeism policies, triggering promotions or corrective actions as needed.
• Ensure compliance with approved recipes, food preparation, and production standards.
• Enforce food safety and sanitation standards per ServSafe and local codes.
• Inspect areas of responsibility; report hazards or equipment issues to management.
• Adjust staffing and production levels to maintain high-quality service across locations.
• Oversee inventories, requisition procedures, and cost-efficient vendor usage.
• Complete financial records, production sheets, and inventory reports; monitor food costs.
