Trustwell Living is seeking a Lead Cook to join our kitchen team. In this hands-on role, you’ll oversee daily kitchen operations, support menu execution, and mentor our culinary team to deliver high-quality meals for residents and guests.

You must hold a Food Manager's Certification and have 2–4 years of supervisory cooking experience. The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and a passion for great food in a healthcare/senior living setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Food Manager's Certification.
• 2–4 years of culinary experience in a supervisory or lead cook role (senior living, healthcare, hospitality a plus)
• Experience and/or knowledge of meal preparation for large groups.
• Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with a team-first mindset
• Passion for food, service, and continuous improvement

Responsibilities

• Supervise day‑to‑day back‑of‑house operations to ensure food quality, safety, and presentation standards
• Lead, train, and motivate kitchen staff to consistently deliver high‑quality meals
• Assist with menu planning, food prep, and special events
• Monitor inventory, ordering, and cost control in alignment with budget goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized kitchen environment that meets all health codes
• Collaborate with front‑of‑house and leadership teams to ensure a seamless dining experience
• Support innovation in recipes, presentation, and resident satisfaction
