Job summary

Kalahari Resorts in Wisconsin Dells is offering a Culinary Arts Intern role. The program provides exposure to resort operations, clienteles, and market niche with mentorship to help you acclimate to the U.S. environment and learn the mission of the organization.

Interns gain foundation across casual and signature dining, banquet kitchen, and related culinary activities, while developing an eye for food trends, quality, sanitation, and cost controls.

Qualifications

• Background consisting of college coursework in Culinary.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy environment and meet deadlines with attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly with senior management, guests, vendors and colleagues.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and demonstrate flexibility and patience.
• Knowledge of food trends, quality, production, sanitation, cost controls and presentation.

Job description

Culinary Arts Intern

The participant will gain a clear overview of the resort's operations, clientele, and niche in the marketplace. The participant will learn the scope of the resort's activities, the history, organizational mission and objectives as well as the significance of the division of departments. The participant will begin acclimating to the U.S. with help from mentors and colleagues.

Qualifications & Responsibilities

• Have a background, consisting of college course work in Culinary.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment, work under pressure and meet deadlines with particular attention to detail.
• Ability to communicate clearly on various levels to include senior management, guests, vendors, and associates.
• Ability to get along well with others, to demonstrate flexibility and patience, to work as a member of a team.
• Good knowledge of food trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentations are helpful.
