Job summary

Discovery Land Company’s Dune Deck Beach Club in Westhampton Beach, NY is seeking a Culinary Intern/Trainee for the 2027 season (May 1–Oct 1). You will assist in all kitchen stations, ensure adherence to recipes and safety standards, and support the Culinary Director and Executive Chef.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in an accredited Culinary or Hospitality program with a college/university affiliated with Discovery Land Co.
• Six months related experience in back of the house of foodservice outlet.
• ServSafe certified.
• Safety conscious at all times to avoid injury to self and others.
• Attention to detail and high standard of service.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays; ability to work shifts over eight hours.

Responsibilities

• Intern will ensure all dishes are uniform made to specifications set out by the Culinary Director or Executive Chef.
• Flexibility to work rotating shifts at all outlets at the club across all stations in the kitchen.
• Responsible for the quality of all food items prepared in the kitchen and ensures standard recipes are followed.
• Assist with preparations of vegetables, meat, and sauces.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation throughout the day.
• Attend department meetings and trainings.

Education
