HomePlate Catering and Hospitality, the official hospitality provider for the Somerset Patriots in Bridgewater, NJ, invites Culinary Interns for the 2027 season. Interns will learn management and operating skills within a large facility, primarily in back of house, with 30-40 hour weeks including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Positioned to start late-February through September, interns may receive college credit and have opportunities for promotion.

An internship with HomePlate Catering and Hospitality will allow candidates to learn several different aspects of running a Food & Beverage Department for a large multi-purpose facility.Ideally, candidates will be college students that are interested in learning management and operating skills related to the facility and hospitality industry, specifically in back of house. **Weekly hours** range from 30-40 and include nights, weekends, and holidays.The HomePlate Catering and Hospitality offices are located in Bridgewater, NJ and service the Somerset Patriots (AA affiliate of the New York Yankees) Baseball Team. (http://www.somersetpatriots.com)# Culinary Intern (3 positions available)Assist the Sous Chef in game day operations. Duties include but are not limited to preparation of player meals, preparation of catering foods including suites, picnics, Diamond Club, Bullpen Terrace and SK Club meals. Interns will also help ensure State of New Jersey and Township Health Department Regulations are followed including product rotation and sanitation. Intern will assist Catering Team Members in stocking of suite kitchen and other catering areas to ensure that they are set up and broken down properly. Non-game week projects include food costing, scheduling, purchasing, deliveries, and sales forecasting. Weekly hours vary between 20 and 40 hours.**Other General Duties for all interns include:**Weekly menu item creation, including ordering, product cost analysis, promoting and sales tracking, seeking new revenue streams, and other duties as required by management**Compensation:** $16.48/hour (subject to annual review) and college credit can also be earned if applicable to the student. Some positions can lead to promotions during the internship or to other positions within the company at the completion of the internship.**Time Frame:** **Start dates are flexible based on college schedules** but can start as early as late-February and run through the end of September. Internship schedules can be made around college schedule through May. Program ends one week before school starts the following school year or until the end of the season for all graduating seniors. It is expected that interns have open availability to work a full work schedule during the season and work ALL of the Somerset Patriots home games between end of spring semester and start of fall semester. Time off is submitted at time of acceptance.
