Job summary

HEI Hotels & Resorts is offering a Culinary Extern externship to gain hands-on experience in a professional hotel kitchen while supporting the culinary team in preparing high-quality food according to brand standards.

Designed to align with Culinary Institute of America academic requirements, this program provides practical learning and exposure to daily kitchen operations, inventory management, and collaboration with fellow associates in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled student at The Culinary Institute of America (externship required for graduation).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs with/without accommodation.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
• Assist in mise en place and food preparation.
• Maintain sanitation, safety, and FIFO procedures.
• Support kitchen staff during service and learn knife skills, butchery, and station organization.
• Participate in menu tastings and culinary meetings.
