Job summary

Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa in San Antonio, TX, invites you to join its culinary extern program. Under the guidance of our Executive Chef and culinary leaders, you will gain hands-on experience at a world-renowned 5-Star/5-Diamond resort, rotating through outlets and learning advanced techniques.

This is a paid externship; externs must be enrolled in an accredited culinary program to receive academic credit.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited culinary program to receive academic credit.

Responsibilities

• Food Preparation: Prepare hot and cold dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner in assigned stations.
• Station Maintenance: Keep workstations organized, sanitized, and stocked with necessary ingredients.
• Food Safety & Quality: Follow strict food safety guidelines and maintain ServSafe, EcoSure, and health department standards.
• Collaboration: Work closely with chefs and kitchen staff to support day-to-day operations.
• Quality Control: Monitor the quality and appearance of plated and buffet items.
• Equipment & Cleanliness: Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment before, during, and after shifts.
• Learning & Development: Rotate through different culinary outlets and expand skill sets.
