Job summary

The Bungalows at Nevada is seeking a Cook to join their team. The Cook reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director and will be responsible for all food preparation to meet quality and service standards for the community.

Responsibilities include following menus and recipes, maintaining sanitation, keeping records, and ensuring temperatures and portions meet guidelines. Work days Mon-Fri with every other weekend.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma/ GED required.
  • Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
  • One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets.
  • Maintains a current SERV Safe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become SERV Safe Certified.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve meals following approved Phoenix standardized recipes.
  • Maintain sanitation of food service areas and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Operate dish machines and ensure proper washing and sanitizing of dishes.
  • Record temperatures of equipment, refrigerators and freezers.
  • Adhere to menus and production sheets to meet service requirements.
  • Monitor food quality, temperature and portions to maintain standards.
  • Follow all local, state and federal policies regarding food handling.
