Job summary

Heartland Senior Living in Minnesota is seeking a Culinary Cook to assist in preparing meals for residents and to package snacks in accordance with dietary regulations. The role requires following established menus, maintaining sanitary and safety standards, and supporting the culinary team during shifts with a focus on quality and resident well-being.

You will handle inventory, adhere to HIPAA privacy rules where applicable, and participate in event catering and disaster drills as needed.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to follow directions and perform assigned tasks.
• Must be able to relate work with geriatric residents and understand their special needs.
• Complete and pass a state required background study form which checks for certain criminal convictions or serious/recurring maltreatment.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all sanitary regulations governing the handling, preparation and serving of food.
• Maintain safety standards and follow policies of Heartland Senior Living Health Services.
• Review menus prior to preparation of food and ensure portions meet policies.
• Prepare meals in accordance with planned menus and dietary orders.
• Assist in inventory and report equipment or supply needs as directed.
