Job summary

Heritage Senior Living is seeking a dependable Culinary Assistant to support our dining services team in Elm Grove, WI. You will assist with food prep, meal service, and keeping the kitchen running smoothly, while getting to know residents and contributing to a positive dining experience.

No extensive healthcare or food-service experience is required; a positive attitude and a passion for serving older adults are valued.

Qualifications

• Previous food preparation, restaurant, hospitality, or healthcare experience is preferred but not required.
• Passion for serving older adults.
• Ability to present and serve food in an appealing manner.
• Strong communication and customer-service skills.
• Understanding of or willingness to learn sanitation, food-safety, and infection-control practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with coworkers and community team members.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation and meal production as directed by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
• Serve meals and beverages to residents and guests.
• Maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment.
• Assist with inventory and organization of food and supplies.
• Label, date, rotate, and properly store food products.
• Organize refrigerators, storage areas, and other kitchen spaces.
