Job summary

Seacrest Village Retirement Communities in Encinitas, CA is seeking a culinary supervisor to lead kitchen operations on the AM/PM shift, ensuring safe food handling and consistently high‑quality meals for residents.

You will supervise culinary staff, help develop standardized methods, coordinate menus with the Director, and address resident concerns to uphold dignity and comfort in daily dining.

Qualifications

• Able to pass pre-employment physical/TB test.
• Obtain fingerprint clearance as required by licensure.
• Food Handlers' certification.
• Prepare work schedules to maintain staffing to accomplish tasks and duties required on each shift.
• Assist in the supervision of culinary personnel and assist to make performance improvements.
• Assist to develop effective standardized methods in which work will be accomplished.
• Monitor absenteeism and tardy occurrences and address the employees appropriately.
• Meet with the Director to review menus; address resident concerns and procedure issues on a routine basis.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations during AM/PM shifts.
• Ensure safe food handling and sanitation throughout the kitchen.
• Supervise culinary staff and coordinate shift duties.
• Develop and implement standardized cooking methods.
• Monitor scheduling to maintain adequate staffing per shift.

• Support continuous improvement and performance enhancements.
• Maintain compliance with licensure and safety protocols.
