Job summary

Ebenezer’s Pillars of Prospect Park in Minneapolis is seeking a Culinary Assistant to serve dining room and to-go meals to residents. The shift schedule includes casual/on-call roles with a minimum of 3 shifts per month, including weekends.

You will learn the EMenu System, follow safety and sanitation procedures, assist with dining room setup, and support resident satisfaction by offering menu choices and accommodating dietary needs.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year experience required.
• High School Diploma preferred.
• 1 year experience preferred.

This senior living community features 133 Independent living, 106 assisted living, and 44 memory care apartments. The Culinary Assistant is responsible for dining room and to go meal service to residents.

Schedule includes;

• Casual / On Call
• Minimum requirement of 3 shifts per month, with 2 shifts falling on a weekend

Responsibilities

• Serves meals and ensures that the dining area is clean and inviting:
• Follows meal serving schedule and procedures.
• Offers resident meal choices and meets resident’s specific dietary needs.
• Uses proper safety and sanitation techniques.
• Follows dining room cleaning schedule and procedures.
• Follow proper procedures for dining room set-up.
• Follows proper work flow to stay on task.
• Learns and becomes proficient with EMenu System and restaurant style service.
• Ensures all dishes (including flatware, drinkware, etc.) are washed, sanitized, and put away before end of shift.
• Promotes and encourages positive resident relations and satisfaction:
• Welcomes residents and initiates conversation.
• Accommodates resident requests such as requests for food substitution, change in seating, etc.
• Listens to any complaints and responds appropriately. Refers issues to Executive Director and Culinary Director as appropriate.
