Wegmans Food Markets in New York invites entry-level cooks to join a structured training program designed to be completed within 6 months, with support from a mentor and trainer. Successful completion leads to placement as Lead Cook in our Restaurant Foods Kitchen area.

You will assist the Sous Chef, follow recipes to uphold high standards, educate customers and staff on products, and help develop teams while supporting profitability and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a prep or line cook.
• Food safety and quality assurance knowledge.
• Experience in a multi-faceted food service facility is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist the Sous Chef in running the kitchen and managing employees, overseeing operations in the absence of the Sous Chef.
• Follow recipes and proper cooking techniques to ensure products are consistently prepared to high standards.
• Educate customers and employees on products and meal solutions, suggesting ways to incorporate items from different departments.
• Manage employee performance by providing resources, training, feedback and development opportunities.
