Job summary

Wegmans Food Markets in Owings Mills, MD is offering an entry-level structured culinary training program designed to prepare you for a Lead Cook role in our Restaurant Foods Kitchen.

Over six months, you will work with a mentor to learn recipes, quality standards and staff development, with the goal of placement as a Lead Cook. A 2+ year prep/line cook background and food safety knowledge are preferred; associate/bachelor in Culinary Arts is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prep or line cook experience.
• Food safety knowledge as part of daily operations.
• Preferred culinary degree or certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Sous Chef in running the kitchen and managing employees.
• Follow recipes and techniques to meet high standards.
• Educate customers and staff on products and meal solutions.
• Support with performance coaching and development opportunities.
