Job summary

Spokane Valley Health and Rehab of Cascadia is seeking a Culinary Aide to assist with food preparation and service for residents, staff, and special events.

You will ensure meals meet planned menus, stay at proper temperatures, and are served attractively while maintaining a clean, safe kitchen.

Preferred qualifications include a high school diploma, a Food Handlers Permit if required, and six months of long-term care food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and/or pre-portions food for regular and therapeutic diets according to the planned menu.
• Prepares and/or portions food using proper food handling and safety techniques.
• Ensures food is served in an attractive, appetizing manner.
• Uses standardized recipes to prepare menu items.
• Maintains proper temperatures of food during preparation and service.
• Washes dishes and maintains a clean kitchen area.
• Performs cleaning and infection control duties.
• Assists with receiving, storing, and verifying invoices for food and supplies.
