Job summary

Oceans Behavioral Hospital Pasadena seeks a Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) to provide assessment, individualized intervention planning, and group therapy as part of the treatment team for adults and seniors with anxiety, depression, and related conditions.

You will document assessments, develop treatment plans, and contribute to multidisciplinary care in an acute inpatient setting, ensuring timely records and collaborative progress toward goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and CTRS license with yearly certification.
• Prefer three years of inpatient clinical practice and supervisory experience.
• Ability to assess and address growth and development needs across age groups.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct therapeutic recreation services per standards and regulations.
• Plan and conduct individual and group therapy as ordered by physicians.
• Complete required paperwork within 72 hours of admission and contribute to treatment integration.
• Perform chart audits and document services in the medical record accurately.
• Collaborate with the treatment team and report patient progress toward goals.
• Identify safety and psychosocial needs of patients and communicate with families.
• Coordinate discharge planning and participate in staff in-services at least bi-annually.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
