Job summary

Pinetree Therapeutics, Inc. in Cambridge, MA seeks a seasoned biotech leader to serve as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

You will own the AbReptor platform, antibody engineering, and CMC, guiding discovery through IND readiness. Reporting to the CEO, you will lead Directors and Principal Scientists, shape platform direction, expand modalities, and drive developability by design across a fast-paced, mission-driven organization.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in immunology, biochemistry, protein engineering, molecular biology, chemical/biomolecular engineering, or related field.
• 15+ years of biotech/pharmaceutical experience in antibody discovery, engineering, and development with senior leadership.
• Hands-on expertise in multispecific antibodies and antibody‑fusion constructs.
• Proven success advancing biologics from discovery to IND-enabling development.
• Strong working knowledge of CMC and developability for antibody therapeutics.
• Ability to lead and mentor Directors and Principal Scientists in a lean, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Own the long-term scientific vision for the AbReptor eTPD platform and antibody engineering.
• Drive expansion into new formats and modalities, including multispecific degraders and conjugates.
• Translate platform capabilities into a prioritized, differentiated portfolio and make go/no-go decisions.
• Provide expert leadership across molecular design, developability, and CMC decisions.
• Lead progression of antibodies from discovery through lead optimization and candidate nomination.
• Oversee in vitro and in vivo characterization strategies to support IND-enabling readiness.
• Ensure smooth technical handoff of nominated candidates into IND-enabling development.
