CT Mechanical in Orlando is hiring an experienced Sheet Metal Mechanic to install duct systems and sheet metal products on commercial sites across the Orlando metro area.

Candidates should be able to read drawings, lay out and assemble ductwork, run square and spiral duct, set hangers, and work safely in Florida heat and humidity. 3+ years of sheet metal experience required. We offer steady local work with growth opportunities in a family-rooted company.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of sheet metal and duct work experience on commercial or industrial job sites.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites throughout the Orlando area.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work full shifts in Central Florida heat and humidity.
• High school diploma or GED.
• OSHA 10 preferred.
• Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or with a crew.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and determine system layout to plan installations.
• Run square and spiral duct from layouts, keeping alignment and fit precise.
• Set hangers for metal strapping duct and set curbs to spec.
• Install VAV boxes and handle light fabrication as needed.
• Measure, mark, and cut sheet metal to template using power and hand tools.
• Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape, or straighten sheet metal.
• Grind and buff seams, joints, and rough surfaces to a clean finish.
• Fabricate, assemble, install, and repair ductwork, control boxes, drainpipes, and furnace casings.
• Inspect your work for quality and conformity to specifications.
• Follow all job site safety protocols, including heat safety during Florida summers.
