Job summary

Tradeco Construction is seeking skilled Commercial Sheet Metal Mechanics and HVAC Duct Installers for Tallahassee, FL projects. Temporary-to-permanent roles open to qualified candidates with strong duct installation and blueprints literacy.

Applicants must have 5+ years of experience in commercial sheet metal or HVAC duct installation, be able to read blueprints, and pass a background check. OSHA 10 may be obtained with company assistance. Local transportation required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial sheet metal or HVAC duct installation experience.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans.
• Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC ductwork, including rectangular, spiral, and round duct systems.
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork.
• Seal and insulate ductwork as required.
• Ensure installations meet project specs and building codes.
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades.

Due to a rapid increase in awarded projects throughout Tallahassee, FL, our customer, a national Mechanical Contractor is #hiring! To supportthe staffing demand, temp-to-perm positions have opened up!

If you are a skilled, commercial Sheet Metal Mechanic and/or an HVAC Duct Installers with at least 5 years of experience, this may be of great interest to you! Put your skills to work, prove yourself and earn the chance to transition into a permanent position.

Your background/experience will include:

• 5+ years of commercial sheet metal or HVAC duct installation experience is REQUIRED
• Experience on commercial new construction and renovation projects
• Experience installing rectangular, spiral, and round duct systems
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and mechanical drawings
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC duct layout and installation practices
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and dependability
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in varying jobsite conditions
• Reliable transportation
• OSHA 10 required**we can assist you in obtaining**
• The ability to pass a background check is required
• Install commercial HVAC ductwork, including rectangular, spiral, and round duct systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and mechanical plans
• Measure, cut, assemble, and install sheet metal ductwork
• Seal and insulate ductwork as required
• Ensure installations meet project specifications and applicable building codes
• Perform layout and field fabrication
• Install VAV boxes, dampers, hangers, supports, and related HVAC components
• Work safely from ladders, lifts, and scaffolding
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all OSHA and company safety procedures
• Coordinate with foremen, project managers, and other trades

Required Tools

Candidates must have their own basic sheet metal hand tools, including snips, tape measure, hammer, screwdrivers, nut drivers, pliers, channel locks, utility knife, torpedo level, speed square, cordless drill/impact driver, hammer drill, Sawzall, and tool pouch.
