Catholic Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit (CTICU) in New York. The role focuses on caring for critically ill cardiothoracic patients, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and providing high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment.

The APP will perform assessments, manage tests and treatments, participate in rounds, and mentor staff while contributing to quality improvement and clinical research in CTICU

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN), Physician Assistant (PA), or equivalent APP qualification.
• Board certification as NP, PA, or CNS in Acute Care.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, cardiothoracic or cardiac surgery preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform thorough assessments of critically ill cardiothoracic patients, including history, physical exams, and ongoing evaluations.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and lab results.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with attending physicians.
• Provide continuous monitoring and management of complex cases including post-operative recovery, ventilation support, and hemodynamic management.
• Provide post-procedure care and patient education, ensuring proper recovery and addressing complications.
• Work with cardiothoracic surgeons, intensivists, and nursing staff to ensure optimal care.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, recovery, and discharge processes.
• Attend daily rounds to discuss progress and updates.
• Mentor nursing staff, residents, and fellows in CTICU practices.
• Engage in quality improvement and clinical research within the unit.
