Job summary

Delaware County Intermediate Unit is seeking a CTE Teacher for Exercise Therapy and Sports Science to support instructional processes and supervise students in the classroom and other areas. The role includes developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual instruction within established curriculum guidelines.

Qualifications

• A current license/certification by the PA Department of State in one of the listed areas: Athletic Trainer, Registered Nurse, Physical Therapist, Physical Therapy Assistant, Occupational Therapist, Occupational Therapy Assistant.
• Appropriate certificate as directed by the Pennsylvania Department of Education; minimum four years of full-time wage-earning work experience required prior to employment and certification.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students within the classroom and other assigned areas; develop lesson plans and deliver instruction within curriculum guidelines; collaborate with teachers, staff and administrators on instructional issues; respond to inquiries from parents/guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Job Description

The job of CTE Teacher was established for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students’ parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress.

Exercise Therapy & Sports Science

This program provides both theoretical and clinical components designed to prepare high school students for post-secondary education and multiple career pathways in the following fields of study: sports medicine, athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, exercise physiology, fitness training and nutrition.

Certification and License requirements

A current license/certification by the PA Department of State in one of the following areas:

Athletic Trainer

Registered Nurse

Physical Therapist

Physical Therapy Assistant

Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapy Assistant
