Job summary

Education Service Center, Region 20 (ESC-20) seeks a regional leader to provide technical assistance and staff development in Career and Technical Education. You will collaborate with TEA, ESCs, and district staff to support educators and students pursuing CTE pathways.

The role requires a Master’s degree and Texas teacher certification, with 3+ years of CTE teaching experience, plus strong group facilitation and adult-learning skills. Employment is in-person with occasional travel expectations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree required from accredited university.
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements related to career and technical education required.
  • Three years of relevant teaching experience in Career and Technical Education.
  • Experience in planning and conducting staff development sessions.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in facilitating groups.
  • Knowledge of and experience in adult learning and planning appropriate staff development for adults.
  • Knowledge and experience in working with supervising programs delivering instruction to at-risk students.
  • Exceptions to these requirements will be considered based on exemplary skills, training, and record of success.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate groups to build capacity in making effective decisions about services to career and technical education programs and federal compliance.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and evaluation of career and technical education programs for designated campuses/districts.
  • Provide professional development training to district personnel that meets state mandates (TEKS) and is coordinated with the establishment of rigorous curriculum standards.
  • Provide training and technical assistance to schools/districts that assists in helping students make successful transitions from school to college, to career, to the military, and to lifelong learning.
  • Serve as a liaison between clients and community resources/stakeholders and state and federal agencies, including communicating program changes from the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
  • Deliver products and services in a timely manner.
  • Monitor, assist, and evaluate CTE program effectiveness including the design of Comprehensive Local Needs Assessment plans.
  • Work cooperatively with Superintendents, CTE Directors, Curriculum Directors, and Campus Leaders in all ESC-20 school districts and charter schools to develop, implement, evaluate and guarantee compliance in Career and Technical Education Programs.
  • Develop marketing strategies for products, services, and programs that reflect data driven decisions.
  • Disseminate information regarding CTE, current research and significant developments on the state and national levels in area assigned to Counselors, CTE Administrators and District Leadership.
  • Provide Technical Assistance in the area of federal compliance indicators to districts and charter school related to non-discrimination, equity, CTE program development, implementation and evaluation.
