Job summary

The State of Illinois, Department of Corrections, is seeking a DOC OAEVS Coordinator of Career and Technical Education to lead statewide CTE programming and adult education initiatives. The role includes coordinating funding, monitoring contracts, and ensuring compliance with state and federal requirements.

Minimum qualifications include a four-year college degree and three years of administrative experience; a Master’s degree and educator license are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Requires completion of four (4) years of college, preferably with courses in education, social science or closely related field.
  • Requires three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in adult education.
  • Prefers a Masters Degree in Education or similar field with a Professional Educator License with a General Administrative, Type 75, or Principal Endorsement.
  • Prefers at least two (2) years of professional experience managing and working within an operational budget.
  • Prefers working knowledge of educational programs within a correctional setting.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates statewide Career and Technical Education programming.
  • Prepares and submits funding applications related to Career and Technical Education and adult education programming.
  • Conducts compliance visits of Adult Education and Career and Technical Education Services programs.
  • Monitors college contracts and coordinates with college coordinators.
  • Develops, plans and implements educational programs within the Department.
  • Serves as full line supervisor.
  • Completes annual reports for the Adult Education Manager.
