Job summary

State of Tennessee seeks Career and Technical Education instructors to supervise incarcerated students in programs aligned with labor-market needs. You will plan, deliver, and evaluate instruction and support successful reentry through workforce readiness and personal development.

You will collaborate with counselors, facility staff, and education personnel to promote program improvement and student success while maintaining a safe learning environment and updated instructional materials.

Qualifications

• Education and experience as an instructor in a nationally recognized program.
• Two years of full-time experience instructing a specialty area.
• Or certification in a specialty area with 5 years of experience.
• Incumbent must enroll in a certified instructional program within six months and complete within two years.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver instruction with engaging lessons and hands-on training.
• Assess student progress with formative and summative methods.
• Maintain accurate records and provide career guidance for reentry.
• Ensure safe, orderly classrooms and enforce safety procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends and update materials to labor-market needs.
• Coordinate testing, data reporting, and collaboration with staff.
