Job description

Support high schools in the campus service area with K-14 Initiatives, including but not limited to dual credit and/or early college initiatives for Career and Technical Education.This position will provide student support services that help students with the opportunity to earn up to two years of college credit while in high school that lead to a credential of value and/or matriculation.Primary goals of this position include ensuring all students are following a specific plan toward completion of dual credit coursework, a Technical Certificate, or an associate’s degree (AS or AAS) with the College by tracking student progress. It also includes ensuring matriculation for students who do not complete a credential while in high school. High schools and career centers partnering with the College will receive a broad array of professional level support services by coordinating and executing various resources and support to assist with college/career readiness.This position is funded through Perkins, with grant funding scheduled to end in June 2027. Continued employment beyond the grant funding period is not guaranteed and will be contingent upon the availability of alternative funding or renewal of the grant.Location: ValparaisoHiring Range: $40,000 - $45,000Major Responsibilities:Track class schedules to ensure students are taking appropriate Career and Technical coursework that leads to the completion of an Ivy Tech program credential.Track student enrollment and registration progress, communicate information to high school faculty/staff.Meet with students who are not persisting and communicate information to high school faculty/staff.Executes strategic initiatives to achieve college-wide and campus level metrics.Offer class presentations about Ivy Tech programs, coordinating with academic as needed.Recruit on behalf of Ivy Tech, promoting the benefits of the Community College in order to increase the number of inquiries and applicants to the College along with the conversion of those inquiries and applicants to help move students through the enrollment process.Coordinate with the high schools and Ivy Tech faculty/staff to connect students with college resources, such as tutoring, library, Ed Tech, DSS, Testing, etc.Assist in administering college placement exams to ensure students are meeting college-level program benchmarks.Coordinate with high school and Ivy Tech faculty/staff to provide remediation strategies to assist students in meeting college level benchmarks.Meet with students to develop individual career/academic plans.Work with high schools and career centers to identify existing or future pathways that enhance offerings and lead to program completions in areas that have high demand – high wage jobsCoordinate with Ivy Tech staff/faculty to share local career information and job placement data with students.Coordinate college visits and visits to local businesses/industries to expose students to various career options.Coordinate parent workshops to assist families with admission applications, financial aid, and scholarships.Track student progress on any credentials earned as a part of dual credit coursework.Create a specified matriculation plan for high school CTE programs.Deliver on-site services promoting Dual Credit programs at high schools including, but not limited to, information sessions, admissions, assessment testing, advising, orientation sessions, registration, obtaining transcripts, and guidance with financial aid resources.Participate in dual credit events at area high schools as needed.Promote career and technical programming at high school, college, and community events.Keep appropriate records.Maintain confidentiality of student records and data.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list.
