Salary Range: $45,000 - $50,000/annually (based on experience)

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled College Connection Coach to join our team. In this role, you will leverage your technical and functional abilities to advise, mentor, and assist high school aged youth with their high school-based college courses and pathways. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of advising, project management, and communication skills, coupled with a passion for delivering outstanding customer service and data driven results in a dynamic environment.

Required Skills & Competencies
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in using multiple student tracking software system, including, but not limited to Banner, Dual Enroll, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Canvas, and Salesforce with hands‑on experience in managing a classroom, presenting to high school students and administrative teams, and tracking students’ progress toward a completion.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and provide data-driven solutions for our high school partners to assist students through their academic journey with Ivy Tech.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to think critically, make decisions independently, and solve complex problems in a timely manner.
  • Teamwork: Proven experience in collaborating effectively with diverse teams to achieve common goals.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and track progress in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to inspire, guide, and assist team members toward a common goal while fostering a positive work culture
Preferred Additional Skills
  • Experience in student advising and/or high school classroom management (teaching, counseling, or support).
Key Responsibilities

The following is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.

  • Advise high school students about pathways to academic degrees and transfer opportunities with Ivy Tech by creating individual academic plans/degree trackers. Advise students in clarifying personal and academic career goals using appropriate student development, human development, and student learning theories.
  • Manage assigned schools’ dual credit and dual enrollment courses from application through registration. Work with teachers and students to assist with Dual Enroll applications, Knowledge Assessment, and course registration.
  • Maintain ongoing communication and good public relations with high school students, parents, and school personnel by coordinating school visits and other recruiting and information activities. Collaborate with high school counselors, teachers, and school personnel to address student needs/issues when appropriate.
  • Maintain, update, and distribute dual credit, dual enrollment, and credential attainment resource materials to college and high school personnel.
  • Monitor academic progress of assigned dual credit students. Monitor student progress through a communication plan, regular meetings, interventions, assessments, and data collection and analysis. Manage student connection caseload in a manner that promotes retention, persistence, and student success through proactive interactions and interventions.
  • Promote dual credit and dual enrollment opportunities to high school staff, students, and parents. Provide information about the College and promote relevant programs to students.
  • Record and maintain student records through multiple student management tools.
  • Assist students in gaining a basic understanding of the College's registration process and processes that need to be completed before the beginning of each semester for both dual credit and students. Assist students in interpreting and understanding placement scores, program curricula, pre‑requisites, etc.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to student development and success through advocacy, positive attitude, adaptability, approachability, problem‑solving, and support.
  • Maintain current knowledge of the institution's academic programs, policies, curriculum, and student policies.
  • Participate and assist in the coordination of on‑campus and off‑campus events that support all stakeholders and K‑14 program initiatives. This may include some evening or weekend activities.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required. Minimum of one (1) year of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement processes aligned with student focused goals.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
  • Good public relations skills and self‑motivation required.
  • Must possess the required knowledge and skills of computers and related software applications for program planning and implementation, including record‑keeping.
  • Must be able to travel throughout Central Indiana (Marion, Boone, and Hendricks in a mobile office environment. Must have reliable internet access for mobile office environment.

  • Experience working in higher education or with high school‑age youth.
