Qualifications

• ARRT competency in clinical and technical functions.
• Certified CT technologist (ARRT CT) preferred.
• BLS certification within 60 days.
• State licensure upon hire where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions.
• Operate CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
• Verify patient identity, verify orders, and prepare the patient for the exam.
• Perform exams per department protocol.
• Review images for quality, clarity, and accuracy; ensure all structures captured.
• Adhere to radiation safety guidelines and maintain a safe environment.
• Complete studies within department time expectations without compromising care.
• Provide patient education and address concerns; ensure comfort.
• Coordinate patient care and communicate with care providers.
• Stay updated with CT technology through continuing education.
• Assist and instruct students and other radiology staff.

This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items.
