Job summary

Intermountain Health seeks a CT Technologist to perform a variety of CT procedures, ensuring high-quality scans and patient safety. The role requires ARRT(R) certification, state licensure, and timely completion of required training.

The schedule is 36 hours per week (Friday–Sunday, 7p–7:30a) at Platte Valley Hospital in Brighton, CO. Candidates should be able to work with radiologists and adhere to safety protocols while delivering compassionate patient care.

Qualifications

  • ARRT RT(R) certification required upon hire.
  • BCLS certification within 60 days.
  • IV certification within 60 days.
  • Relevant state licensure upon hire (Colorado).
  • Fluoroscopy license required upon hire (Colorado).
  • Must complete the controlled substance module within 30 days.
  • Must complete the initial moderate sedation module within 30 days.
  • Specific facility-based certifications may be required and defined by each facility.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions.
  • Operates CT equipment and related information systems to produce quality images.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and exam preparation.
  • Performs exams per department protocol.
  • Reviews images for quality, clarity, and accuracy; ensures all anatomical structures are captured.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe environment for patients and staff.
  • Follows protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining consents, maintaining QC program and reporting equipment failures.
  • Administers contrast media under physician/radiologist supervision and educates patients on safety concerns.

As a CT Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:
  • Maintains ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job
  • Understands and operates CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure production of quality images.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, order verification, and prepares the patient for the exam.
  • Performs exams per department protocol.
  • Reviews and evaluates images for quality, clarity, and accuracy, ensuring that all necessary anatomical structures are captured.
  • Adheres to radiation safety guidelines and maintains a safe working environment for patients and staff.
  • Follows appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC program and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
  • As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision administers contrast media to patients per protocol and provides education to patients regarding safety concerns inherent to contrast administration.
CT Tech Minimum Qualifications
  • Health Services\ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (RT)(R) Upon Hire
  • Health Services\BCLS - Basic Life Support within 60 Days
  • Health Services\IV - IV Certification within 60 Days
  • Relevant state licensure Upon Hire
  • For caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy License is required Upon Hire
  • (Where applicable) Must complete the controlled substance module within 30 Days
  • (Where applicable) Must complete the initial moderate sedation module within 30 Days
  • Specific facility-based certifications may also be required for this role. If this applies, each facility would define and manage compliance.
CT Tech Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of CT Experience
  • Experience in a healthcare setting

Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, labels, assess patient needs, operate monitors, identify equipment and supplies.

Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations.

Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use and typing for documenting patient care, accessing needed information, medication preparation, etc.

Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients. Will also bend to retrieve, lift, and carry supplies and equipment. Typically includes items of varying weights, up to and including heavy items.

Need to walk and assist with transporting/ambulating patients and obtaining and distributing supplies and equipment. This includes pushing/pulling gurneys and portable equipment, including heavy items. Often required to navigate crowded and busy rooms (full of equipment, power cords on the floor, etc.)

May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time.

For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.
