Job summary

Loyal Source Government Services seeks one full-time Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist to provide diagnostic radiology services at the VA New Jersey Health Care System (VANJHCS) in Toms River, New Jersey.

The CT Technologist shall perform CT and general radiography procedures, ensuring high-quality diagnostic imaging and compassionate patient care. The role requires ARRT CT certification, state licensure, and CT experience.

Qualifications

• Must be Certified in Computed Tomography and Diagnostic X-ray with the ARRT.
• Shall be licensed to practice Radiologic Technology in the United States or DC.
• Provide a current reference from the last place of employment with name and phone number.
• CT knowledge includes cross sectional anatomy and multi-slice CT with 3-D reconstruction.
• Minimum of 1 year of CT experience as a CT Technologist.
• Experience with IVP, GI series, Modified Barium Swallow, barium enema exams.
• Experience with portable C-arm cases and interoperative procedures.
• Experience with 320 slice / 64 slice CT scanners and cardiac CT with gating.
• Experience with general x-ray and dose tracking; knowledge of IV contrast and hydration.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the patient for radiographic procedures with education and reassurance.
• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations and document anatomy visualized.
• Carry out quality control to ensure optimal images and limit radiation exposure.
• Monitor patients for changes and notify the physician as needed.
• Prepare contrast agents and accurately record doses.
• Follow VA National Health Physics Program guidelines and center policies.
• Evaluate test results for clarity and take corrective action when needed.
• Log data into patient information systems and update PACS with tests performed.
• Clean and disinfect equipment and workspace per procedures.
• Identify equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs.
• Prepare digital images for radiologist interpretation.
• Adhere to facility infection control and safety policies.
