Job summary

Los Angeles Community Hospitals in California offers a 12-month CT Technologist trainee program designed to advance Radiologic Technologists into Computed Tomography. Trainees receive hands-on clinical experience, mentorship, and educational support to prepare for CT certification requirements.

Under supervision, you perform basic radiologic procedures and advanced CT studies, coordinate with Radiology staff, and learn to meet regulatory and safety standards including ARRT CT registry prep.

Qualifications

  • Current Radiologic Technologist license in California.
  • Complete all required clinical competencies within 12 months.
  • Prepare for and pass ARRT CT certification within 12 months.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Hospital Fire and Life Safety Card (Los Angeles City Employees only).
  • Preferred: ARRT certification.
  • Preferred: Venipuncture certification.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of diagnostic radiologic procedures and CT under supervision.
  • Ensure patient identity and correct procedure per orders and policies.
  • Coordinate with X-ray and CT staff to troubleshoot issues.
  • Demonstrate compassionate patient care across age and cultural groups.
  • Handle documentation, supplies, rounds, and department records.
  • Monitor equipment and ensure data accuracy for patient records and billing.
