Job summary

RadNet in Oceanside, CA, is seeking a CT Technologist Trainee to join a clinical team dedicated to high-quality imaging. You will assist with CT exams, learn positioning and safety procedures, and support image processing under supervision, while maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Eligible candidates hold ARRT and state CRT licensure, with BLS certification preferred. The role emphasizes professional development through on-the-job training and continuous education.

Qualifications

• Must have current ARRT(R) and State License in Diagnostic Radiologic Technology (CRT).
• Must obtain ARRT (CT) certification and/or applicable State CT license within the timeframe required by RadNet policy or state regulations.
• Completion of an accredited Radiology program required.
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
• Venipuncture certification preferred; if not held, must obtain within required timeframe.
• Ability to learn and apply specialized CT equipment operation.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to relate to patients, physicians, and team members.
• Must be detail-oriented, highly organized, and committed to professional development.

Responsibilities

• Assists with preparing patients for CT exams and explains procedures in a courteous and professional manner.
• Learns proper positioning techniques, immobilization methods, and safety procedures for CT imaging under supervision.
• Observes and assists with administering contrast media (only after obtaining venipuncture certification and under direct supervision, if applicable).
• Supports technologists with image processing, PACS transmission, and quality assurance checks.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and adheres to HIPAA guidelines.
• Participates in educational activities, in-service training, and on-the-job instruction to gain competency in CT imaging.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient procedures.
• Provides professional and compassionate care to patients throughout the imaging process.
• Completes administrative tasks, paperwork, and data entry as assigned.
• Performs other related duties as assigned while learning the full scope of the CT Technologist role.
