Job summary

AdventHealth in Killeen, TX is hiring a CT Technologist on a StaffFlex contract. You will perform CT exams, educate patients, and ensure safety and infection control while delivering high-quality imaging.

Requires ARRT CT and Radiography, BLS, and an Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology. Work schedule is full-time, Mon-Wed 7a–7:30p with no call; competitive pay and benefits from day one.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology required.
• AMA approved school of radiologic technology or JCERT accreditation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist RT(R) and CT certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs exams using established protocols and ensures patient identification.
• Operates imaging equipment safely, adapting protocols for all ages.
• Screens patients for pregnancy and minimizes radiation exposure.
• Positions patients and produces images meeting Radiologist standards.
• Maintains room and handles clerical tasks like scheduling.
• Monitors patient comfort, safety, and privacy during procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Performs all exams using established protocols, ensuring proper patient identification and education prior to the exam.
• Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, monitors, and medical equipment, adapting protocols for patients of all ages.
• Screens patients of childbearing age and minimizes radiation exposure to patients, families, and co-workers, while practicing infection control standards and using approved PPE and disinfectant agents.
• Positions patients and equipment, selects technical factors, and produces radiographic images that meet Radiologist’s standards in a safe and timely manner.
• Performs clerical duties such as answering telephones, completing patient records, filing, and scheduling.
• Provides direct patient care within the technologist’s scope of practice, utilizing proper infection control techniques.
• Monitors patient condition, ensuring comfort, safety, and privacy, while obtaining and documenting patient history and explaining procedures.
• Maintains a properly stocked, organized, and clean room.
• Demonstrates knowledge and skills to perform scans on patients of all ages.
• Screens patients for any contrast allergies.
• Adapts imaging protocols as necessary.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
