Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a CT Technologist I to perform computed tomography procedures, administer contrast, and ensure patient safety. New grads are welcome to apply, with a $20,000 sign-on bonus for offers accepted by October 31, 2026.

The role requires knowledge of imaging protocols, post-processing, and timely communication with clinicians. The ideal candidate will have ARRT or NMTCB credentials and BLS certification, and will contribute to quality imaging and patient care.

Qualifications

• Certification by ARRT or NMTCB, ARRT-CT, BLS, and completion of a 6-month orientation.
• Individuals with at least one year of experience can be hired directly into this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT procedures creating diagnostic images.
• Safely administer contrast while checking for interactions.
• Assess allergy risk to contrast media prior to administration.
• Evaluate lab values before administering contrast.
• Explain procedures to patients using age-appropriate language.
• Adhere to imaging protocols and patient comfort.
• Document deviations and notify providers when needed.
• Complete post-processing, image display, and transfer for review.
• Support open shifts as competency allows.
