Job summary

Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington, CT, is hiring a CT Technologist to perform diagnostic CT procedures per established protocols and assist radiologists in diagnosis and treatment.

You will select exposure factors based on patient age and diagnosis, produce high-quality CT images, and participate in complex invasive CT examinations with sterile technique. Prior radiography training and CT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiography program.
• Connecticut state Radiographer license required.
• CT Advanced certification by ARRT within 12 months of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic CT procedures per established protocols for diagnosis and treatment.
• Select exposure factors, algorithms and scan fields based on age and diagnosis to produce accurate images.
• Produce technically accurate cross-sectional CT images to aid radiologist interpretation.
• Assist in complex invasive CT examinations with sterile technique and proper CT imaging.
• Maintain patient safety and ensure quality imaging throughout procedures.

Summary

The CT Technologist performs diagnostic and therapeutic CT procedures according to established protocols to assist the referring physician in diagnosis and treatment. Performs computed tomography (CT) procedures by selecting correct exposure factors, algorithms and scan fields while utilizing the assessment of patient age and diagnosis to produce technically accurate cross sectional images to assist the radiologist in diagnosis and treatment. Participates in complex invasive CT examinations by assisting the Radiologist or Physician's Assistant using proper sterile technique and producing CT images.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited Radiography program
• Connecticut state Radiographer license required.
• CT Advanced certification by ARRT within 12 months of hire required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience

• At least one (1) year experience as a CT Technologist preferred.
• 6 months experience in Radiology hospital setting preferred.
• Working knowledge of CT Technology and venipuncture.
