Job summary

Cleveland Clinic Nevada is seeking a PRN CT Technologist to provide high-quality cross-section imaging and patient care. You will operate CT equipment, prepare patients, and ensure safe, accurate studies in a busy clinical setting at 888 W Bonneville Ave, Las Vegas.

Qualifications include ARRT(R) registration, CT certification within a year, BLS, and state licensure. Prior radiologic tech experience is helpful; duties include contrast administration and PACS workflow.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide CT imaging and patient care for patients of all ages.
• Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
• Acquire chart data and review for setup and contraindications.
• Verify that the study matches diagnostic needs.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
• Educate patients about procedures and equipment.
• Prepare and administer contrast media within scope.
• Perform VNA punctures as necessary.
• Maintain CT area and documentation for QA.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Monitor equipment and report issues promptly.
• Maintain equipment uptime at a high level.

A PRN (as needed) caregiver in this position works

days from 7:00 a.m. – 5 p.m. @ Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health

As a CT Technologist, you will produce cross-section images of internal organs and tissues for the diagnosis of various medical issues. Utilizing your advanced training and knowledge, you will accurately interpret scanning instructions, administer contrast materials, prepare and operate the equipment, and position the patient to capture the appropriate images. This role is critical in the overall treatment of our patients, making you an invaluable asset to the Cleveland Clinic system.

A PRN (as needed) caregiver in this position works, 7:00am—5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide computed tomography imaging and patient care services at defined levels for patients of all ages.
• Check and prepare patients prior to CT study.
• Acquire patients chart data/requisition and review both to determine correct room set-up and learn of any specific medical problems and contraindications to the study.
• Verify that the study being ordered correlates to the diagnostic needs.
• Assure patient's safety and comfort during procedures.
• Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation.
• Prepare and administer contrast media or medications within the accepted scope of practice and applicable state and federal regulations.
• Perform VNA punctures as necessary.
• Maintain all aspects of the CT area, including the technical and clerical components, to ensure proper quality assurance results and any required documentation.
• Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS.
• Observe potential equipment dysfunctions and report problems to appropriate individuals.
• Maintain available equipment up-to-time at the highest level.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
• Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists [R.T.(R) (ARRT)] in good standing
• Certification in Computed Tomography [R.T.(R) (CT) (ARRT)] within one year of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
• Current state licensure required prior to employment.
• Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy and related pathologic processes

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist

Physical Requirements:

• Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $42.00

Maximum hourly: $42.00
