Job Description:

The CT Tech performs a variety of CT procedures using ionizing radiation for diagnostic purposes. This position uses ingenuity, initiative, and independent judgment to perform high-quality scans.

As an CT Technologist at Intermountain Health, you will play a vital role in supporting our clinical team, ensuring our patients receive the best care by:

  1. Maintaining ARRT competency in all clinical and technical functions of the job.
  2. Understanding and operating CT equipment and related information systems appropriately to ensure production of quality images.
  3. Ensuring proper patient identification, order verification, and preparing the patient for the exam.
  4. Following appropriate protocol for medical necessity, coding and charging, obtaining necessary consents, maintaining applicable QC program and reporting any equipment failures or problems.
  5. As ordered by the physician and under radiologist or physician supervision, administering contrast media to patients per protocol and providing education to patients regarding safety concerns inherent to contrast administration.
  6. Staying updated with the latest advancements in CT technology, techniques, and protocols by participating in continuing education and professional development activities.

Minimum Qualifications

  1. Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) within 60 days, Required
  2. ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists ARRT (R) Upon Hire, Required
  3. Certified Computed Tomography Technologist - American Registry of Radiography Technologists ARRT (R)(CT), Preferred
  4. Licensure in state of practice as applicable, Upon Hire, Required
  5. IV Competency within 90 Days, Required

Preferred Qualifications

  1. For caregivers hired in this role in the State of Colorado, a Fluoroscopy certification, Preferred
  2. Specific facility-based certification may also be required for this role. If this applies, each facility will define and manage compliance.
  3. 1-2 years Work Experience CT Experience in a hospital setting, Preferred

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$34.06 - $52.55
