Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time CT technologist for the Floyd Medical Center CT department in Rome, GA. The role is 12 hours per week, PRN, with a pay range of $33.05 to $49.60 per hour.

Responsibilities include CT scanning, image evaluation, contrast administration, patient prep, and coordination with radiologists. The position requires ARRT radiology or NMTCB certification with BLS, adherence to radiation safety, and the ability to work in a dynamic clinical environment with rotating

Qualifications

• ARRT certification in Radiology or NMTCB required; BLS required.
• Graduate of an ARRT-recognized radiologic or NMTCB program.

Responsibilities

• Examines requests and verifies orders; refers to Radiologist and contacts ordering provider for discrepancies.
• Identify patients and prepare them for procedures with explanations; document appropriately.
• Interview patients to obtain medical history; review EMRs to gather pertinent history; record history on requisitions.
• Assume responsibility for the exam from start to dictation of results.
• Prepare and administer IV contrast per protocols; record type and amount as requested.
• Evaluate image quality; consult Radiologist; process additional images as instructed.
• Provide basic patient care and inform nursing staff of changes; assist in code blue emergencies.
• Perform CT scanning and assist during invasive procedures; maintain sterile technique.
• Obtain medications or contrast material as directed by licensed practitioners.
• Follow radiation safety standards; maintain safe work practices.
• Report equipment malfunctions; stay current with safety and infection control policies.
• Adhere to attendance policies; rotate shifts including call nights, holidays, and weekends.
• Operate radiology computer system; enter orders and document contrast in MAR.
• Keep work area neat and stocked; maintain cleanliness.
• Assist anesthesia and other personnel during CT exams when needed.
