Job summary

GBMC HealthCare in Towson, MD, seeks a Radiologic Technologist for CT imaging. Responsible for preparing the patient, operating CT and related equipment, and assisting physicians during procedures.

Will ensure ALARA-compliant techniques, proper data transfer to PACS, and accurate record-keeping. Required two years of post-high school training in diagnostic imaging and ARRT registry with MD licensure; CPR certification may be expected.

Qualifications

• Completion of two (2) years post-high school training in an approved school of diagnostic imaging.
• Must have passed a qualifying examination given by an appropriate credentialing agency.
• National registry through ARRT and MD licensure.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for examination and sets up CT, data processing, and ancillary equipment.
• Calculates and selects proper technique and protocols using ALARA and safety measures.
• Assists physicians during procedures with equipment, contrast materials, and sterile technique when applicable.
• Transfers image data to PACS and V-RAD environments for physician review.
• Maintains records and technical notations per regulatory requirements.
• Maintains cleanliness and stocking of work area.
• Draws blood and introduces IVs as needed.
• Assists in scheduling CT examinations to optimize equipment use.
• Demonstrates CT operation and theory to students and staff as required.
• Performs related clerical tasks such as filing and scheduling.
