Job summary

UofL Health is seeking a CT Technologist to perform CT scans following established protocols and maintain high accuracy in imaging within the Diagnostic Imaging Department.

The role emphasizes safety, patient assessment, and education, including handling contrast media and assisting radiologists with advanced examinations. Collaboration with staff and ongoing credential maintenance are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a JRC approved program in Radiologic Technology.
• Registered with ARRT.
• KY Radiation Operators certification.
• BLS.
• CT Certification preferred at time of hire but required within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Uses consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information pertinent to the examination being performed, including correct patient identification and order verification.
• Assesses patient to determine and develop an action plan for completing the procedure.
• Performs pre and post exam patient education pertinent to exam being performed.
• Produces CT scans according to established protocols within the Diagnostic Imaging Department with a high degree of accuracy.
• Evaluates finished images/series for technical accuracy and diagnostic quality.
• Demonstrates good radiation safety practices during radiographic examinations to include use of correct FOV, lead shields as appropriate, and determining pregnancy status of women of childbearing years.
