Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist to support radiology services. The role includes positioning patients, administering IV/oral contrast per protocol, and entering exam data into the system, with focus on safety and image quality.

Responsibilities include QA of CT equipment, basic clerical duties, and maintaining a clean work area. The ideal candidate has ARRT certification and BLS, with 2–3 years of undergrad education or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • ARRT certification is required.
  • IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety certification is required.
  • BLS through American Heart Association required.
  • 2 to 3 years of undergraduate education or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Positions and immobilizes patient on examining table.
  • Administers contrast media oral and/or IV contrast in accordance with department policies and procedures, patient history indicators, exam protocols and physician orders and follows through with post exam instructions.
  • Enters data such as type of scan, slice thickness, scan time and other technical data into computer.
  • Communicates with patient before and during procedure; monitors safety, comfort.
  • Views images of organs or tissue on video display screen to ensure quality of pictures; produces radiographs.
  • Performs CT equipment QA and maintains required logs.
  • Performs clerical tasks such as receiving orders, scheduling patients, and recordkeeping.
  • Maintains and cleans work area and equipment; replenishes supplies as needed

Education

Undergraduate education or equivalent (2-3 years)
ARRT certification
BLS through American Heart Association
IEMA Division of Nuclear Safety
