Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a CT Technologist to join our Radiology team in Illinois. The role emphasizes patient safety, high-quality imaging, and strict adherence to radiation safety and QA standards.

You will work with CT protocols, administer contrast, and ensure accurate documentation and PACS transfers. Ideal candidates are graduates of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program with ARRT CT certification within six months, IEMA accreditation within six months, and BLS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program.
• ARRT Computed Tomography (CT) certification required within six months of hire.
• Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) accreditation within six months of hire.
• BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Maintains accountability for patient safety throughout the imaging process.
• Produces diagnostic-quality images using approved protocols and professional standards.
• Apply professional judgment within approved protocols to optimize image quality and address imaging challenges.
• Reviews images prior to exam completion and initiates corrective action when diagnostic adequacy is not met.
• Administers contrast in accordance with policy, including screening for contraindications and patient monitoring (as applicable).
• Operates imaging equipment and maintains imaging room readiness.
• Coordinates exam flow and prioritizes time-sensitive studies.
• Maintains accurate and timely documentation in medical record and image archive system, including exam set-up, image routing, result availability and charging accuracy.
• Adheres to organizational values, ethical standards, and compliance requirements.
• Consistently upholds all applicable quality and safety standards within diagnostic imaging, such as radiation safety, MRI safety, Infection prevention measures safe practices (as applicable to the role) to protect self, patients, visitors and team members
• Ensures a positive patient experience throughout care delivery.

Education

Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technologist Program

ARRT CT certification within six months of hire

IEMA Accreditation within six months of hire
