Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of an AMA approved school of radiography.
• ARRT registered technologist, current and in good standing.
• Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable.
• Current CPR certification.
• Sufficient training and experience to competently perform CT procedures independently.
• Certification in imaging specialty.

Responsibilities

• Screens patient before exam for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
• Explains and prepares patients for scanning, positions patients for appropriate imaging.
• Performs routine and advanced CT procedures with minimal supervision, while providing patient support.
• Adjusts scan parameters and uses dose reduction techniques as needed.
• Follows physician orders, maintains safety, and documents in RIS.
• Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
• Keeps the work area clean and safe for patients and staff.
• Monitors imaging protocol manuals and software upgrades.
• Monitors supply inventory and requests necessary items.
• Assists with training new team members.

Education

High School diploma or equivalent

AMA approved school of radiography

ARRT registered technologist

Licensed Radiological Technologist in appropriate state

CPR certification

Sufficient training and experience to perform CT independently

Certification in imaging specialty
