The CT Technologist performs computed tomography procedures and related techniques, producing sectional and three-dimensional images for interpretation and assisting with interventional and therapeutic procedures.

Responsibilities

1. Performs complex CT procedures.
2. Evaluates radiographs for proper identification and diagnostic quality.
3. Uses appropriate techniques to gather relevant information to prepare protocols, ensuring patient safety.
4. Prepares patients for scanning, including shielding and immobilization.
5. Assists providers with CT-guided interventional procedures.
6. Performs CT examinations and administers contrast per protocols.
7. Provides explanations and instructions to patients, addressing questions and concerns.
8. Performs venipuncture, IV maintenance, and monitors patient during procedures.
9. Reviews images for quality and determines if additional scans are needed.
10. Performs image reconstruction and provides technical assistance to staff and students.
11. Adheres to safety, infection control, and sterile techniques.
12. Adjusts scanning parameters for optimal visualization.
13. Documents and archives data and images properly.
14. Assesses equipment performance regularly.
15. Performs clerical duties using hospital systems.
16. Greets patients following AIDET standards.
17. Administers emergency care including CPR if necessary.
18. Works scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends, and on-call as needed.
19. Adapts care to meet the needs of diverse patient populations.
20. Follows organizational competencies and standards.
21. Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved radiography school.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficient in computer platforms such as Microsoft Office or Google Suite.

Licenses and Certifications

• Diagnostic Radiography License.
• American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Certification.
• AHA Basic Health Care Life Support (BLS) Certification.
• CT certification to be completed within 9 months of hire.
