Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to operate CT equipment and perform imaging procedures, including bone densitometry and fluoroscopy, in an outpatient setting.

The role requires ARRT CT certification, CA licensure, BLS, and CT-specific credentials. You will ensure image quality, maintain records, and support patient care within a compassionate coastal community.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology preferred.
• ARRT registration required (R.T. R CT) or equivalent.
• Radiologic Tech license in CA required.
• Advanced CT certification preferred in CA; required in OR/HI.
• BLS certification required by AH policy.
• Fluoroscopy license required in CA if operating fluoroscopy equipment.
• Venipuncture certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images for diagnosis in outpatient setting.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology system to transfer images appropriately.
• Maintains records and billing information; protects patient data per HIPAA.
• Performs routine maintenance, calibration, and manages supply inventory.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients’ bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions in an outpatient setting. Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including bone densitometry, general radiography and fluoroscopy.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA, if employee operates fluoroscopy equipment
• Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
• Maintains accurate records, files and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
