Job summary

Adventist Health Sierra Vista is seeking a CT Technologist to operate CT equipment and produce diagnostic images for outpatient care on the Central California Coast. The role includes performing CT along with bone densitometry, radiography and fluoroscopy as needed.

The candidate should have an Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology and be ARRT registered, with CA licensure and BLS certification. Fluoroscopy licensing is required where applicable and venipuncture experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Radiologic Technology is preferred.
• ARRT or CA license required in CA.
• CT certification: preferred in OR and HI; CA preferred.
• BLS certification required.
• Fluoroscopy license required in CA if fluoroscopy is used.
• Venipuncture certification preferred in CA/OR.

Responsibilities

• Operates CT equipment to produce cross-sectional images for radiologist interpretation.
• Performs associated imaging procedures including bone densitometry, fluoroscopy and general radiography.
• Maintains accurate records and ensures HIPAA compliance and data integrity.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Transfers images using PACS and teleradiology systems.

Job Summary:

Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions in an outpatient setting. Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including bone densitometry, general radiography and fluoroscopy.

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• Associate's degree in Radiologic Technology: Preferred

Licenses/Certifications:

• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required
• Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required in CA
• Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Required in OR and HI, Preferred in CA
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required
• Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required in CA, if employee operates fluoroscopy equipment
• Venipuncture certification: Preferred in CA and OR

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required

Essential Functions:

• Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric.
• Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation.
• Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location.
• Maintains accurate records, files and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations.
• Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
