Job summary

Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA is seeking a CT Technologist for outpatient imaging. You will perform CT procedures, operate scanners, and administer IV contrast to patients of all ages, ensuring safety and image quality.

This role may float to other Carilion Roanoke outpatient sites as needed. Shift is 8-hour days, Mon-Fri, starting between 7:30 and 8:30, with a sign-on and relocation support beneficial to new hires.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT registered; BLS-HCP required.
• Demonstrates knowledge of CT procedures, cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety, and contrast administration.
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs CT imaging procedures using prescribed ionizing radiation for radiologic diagnosis across all ages.
• Operates CT equipment; performs IV contrast injections and other required skills.
• Processes patients, including scheduling, registration, and file management.
• Complies with Carilion Clinic imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in training of students and staff; maintains ARRT registry.

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare

Up to $30,000 new hire sign on bonus and up to $7,000 in relocation assistance is available.

The CT Technologist performs CT imaging procedures, operates equipment, and ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging.

May need to float to other Carilion Roanoke Outpatient facilities to meet patient needs.

Shift: 8 hour day shifts, Monday - Friday; variable start times from 730am to 830am.

The CT Technologist

• Performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images. Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Processes patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
• Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Maintains ARRT registry. Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.

What We Require

Education:

Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.

Experience:

None.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:

Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). AHA BLS-HCP required.

Other Minimum Qualifications:

Demonstrates knowledge of computed tomography procedures, cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety principles, and contrast media administration. Ability to operate CT equipment and produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Compensation Range

$33.52 - $50.28

Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
