Carilion Clinic in Roanoke, VA seeks a CT Technologist to perform CT imaging and related procedures for outpatients. You will operate high‑end CT equipment, inject IV contrast and ensure patient comfort, while upholding safety standards and regulatory guidelines.

The role supports collaboration with physicians and nurses, may include floating to other facilities, and requires ARRT and BLS credentials with a strong focus on accuracy and patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certification and BLS-HCP are required.
• Knowledge of CT procedures, anatomy, safety and contrast media.
• Ability to operate CT equipment and produce quality images with patient care.

Responsibilities

• Perform CT imaging procedures and operate CT equipment to obtain diagnostic images.
• Administer IV contrast and ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain ARRT registry and participate in staff training as assigned.
• Float to other Carilion Roanoke Outpatient facilities as needed.
• Process patients with scheduling, registration and file management.

How You’ll Help Transform Healthcare:

• The CT Technologist performs CT imaging procedures, operates equipment, and ensures high-quality diagnostic imaging.
• May need to float to other Carilion Roanoke Outpatient facilities to meet patient needs.
• Shift: 8 hour day shifts, Monday - Friday; variable start times from 730am to 830am.
• The CT Technologist Performs a variety of technical procedures to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for radiological diagnosis of patients of all ages.
• Applies knowledge of growth and development to appropriately care for all patients served.
• Operates highly specialized, technical equipment to obtain quality images.
• Performs IV contrast injections and other skills as required.
• Processes patients, which may include scheduling, registration, file management and computer processing skills.
• Complies with all Carilion Clinic and Imaging policies, procedures and regulatory guidelines.
• Participates in the training of students and staff as assigned.
• Maintains ARRT registry.
• Enhances personal and professional growth through participation in educational opportunities.

What We Require:

• Education: Graduate of an approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• Experience: None.
• Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). AHA BLS-HCP required.
• Other Minimum Qualifications: Demonstrates knowledge of computed tomography procedures, cross-sectional anatomy, radiation safety principles, and contrast media administration. Ability to operate CT equipment and produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. Strong critical thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work effectively with patients of all ages and collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Must be detail-oriented, able to prioritize responsibilities in a fast-paced environment, and committed to maintaining patient confidentiality and professional standards.

Compensation Range: $33.52 - $50.28 Employee pay is based on a variety of factors, including qualifications, credentials, education, and prior work experience. The compensation range does not include benefits or pension plan.
